ORA

ORA stands for Original Regional Architecture.

The studio focuses primarily, though not exclusively, on the reconstruction and conversion of existing structures. The authors work with extracted architectural fragments, placing them into new contexts.

At the beginning of each project, we ask a fundamental question: What does not need to be done? What does not need to be changed? This is not primarily a formal stance nor an aesthetic manifesto. Just as we do not buy trash bags but use whatever leftover packet happens to be at hand, we reject the overproduction of space where space already exists. Instead, we reinterpret existing spaces and structures. New form is thus partly found, partly composed.
