KOGAA was founded in 2015 by Tomáš Kozelský, Alexandra Georgescu, and Viktor Odstrčilík to create an architectural practice focused on social impact, sustainability, and urban quality of life. Guided by the belief that “the most sustainable building is the one that already exists,” the studio specializes in the adaptive reuse of historic structures.

Projects like the Distillery, KUMST, DADA Distrikt, and the micro-living prototype NOOX demonstrate how KOGAA transforms underused spaces into active civic and economic assets. When designing new buildings, adaptability is key—ensuring long-term relevance with minimal environmental impact.

Beyond architecture, KOGAA leads public space interventions, urban workshops, and international collaborations. To safeguard execution quality, the studio also co-founded PLANCRAFT, an in-house engineering platform bridging design and delivery.

The studio's achievements to date include:
– Selection for Architectural Record’s Design Vanguard, recognizing emerging international talent (2021),
– Presentation and mentoring at the RIBA Guerrilla Tactics conference at the Royal Institute of British Architects,
– Representing the Czech Republic at Concéntrico – International Festival of Architecture and Design in Logroño, Spain,
– BIG SEE Architecture Grand Prix for The Distillery project (2020),
– Winner of the Czech Architecture Award 2021 in the Industry category, granted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, for the DADA Distrikt project.
